DEW JELLY VEGAN CUSHION 01 순수

Review

Fundamentally, this is just like any cushion. It comes with a mirror, a puff, a compartment for the foundation, and a separate compartment for the puff. The mirror is crispy clear but the puff can easily create a residue on the mirror so if you have a wiping cloth, it would be great.

What sets it apart from the other cushions is how pretty it looks. This is possibly the prettiest and most aesthetic-pleasing cushion case that I have ever seen. It may be a simple acrylic case but it’s just so well-done. There is a faint and nice plant smell to it, like a refreshing aloe vera scent. The cushion is flat but easy to maneuver. The texture of the product is similar to other cushion foundations, where it has more moisture than a regular foundation.

When you press down into the foundation cushion, it looks so bouncy and juicy. It’s almost like squeezing a juicy fruit.

For someone with skin tone on the yellowy side, I think this color is too much on the cool tone side. It could easily make someone with yellow/neutral tone skin have a different color tone than the neck. Maybe No. 02 was a better option.

The coverage felt more like a light-medium coverage as I can still see a lot of spots and flaws on my skin. Besides, if you pack a bit too much onto your skin, it would look cakey instead. Aside from that, a cushion foundation tends to amplify texture more than a regular foundation. If you’re someone who prefers/requires matte finishing, this wouldn’t be your first pick too.

I would recommend this cushion to the below group of people:
🌱 Wants light coverage just to harmonize the skin tone for a natural look
🌱 Has lesser flaws and texture
🌱 Likes glowy skin and doesn’t mind touching up regularly

Dewy Lip Tint 듀 틴트

DEW TINT 12 일요일 Sunday

Review

Colour: “Sunday” is said to be a mauve rose nude color under a cool tone. When applied to my lips, it seems to have a bit more reddish tone than it looked in the product pictures. Nonetheless, it suits neutral or warm skin tones as well.

Smell: It smells like a really nice rose tea that warms the heart.

Texture: In the bottle, it is runny. Once applied to the lips, it becomes a nice glossy texture that doesn’t glue the hair to the lips. A few may stay on the lips but it is easy to pull away. It also doesn’t transfer the color once the product sets into the lips.

Staining: Pretty good staining strength, not very strong but enough to leave a mark.

DEW TINT 13 물복숭아 Dewy Peach

Review

Colour: “Dew Boksoonga” is said to be a dewy peach color under a neutral tone. When applied to my lips, it seems to have a bit more light pinkish tone than it looked in the product pictures. Nonetheless, it could potentially suit neutral/warm skin tones.

Smell: It smells like a peach fruit that sweetens the day.

Dewy Velvet Tint 듀 벨벳

DEW VELVET 06 생장미 Lively Rose

Review

Colour: “Lively Rose” is said to be a salmon rose color under a warm tone. When applied to my lips, it seems to have a bit more reddish tone than it looked in the product pictures. Nonetheless, it suits neutral or warm skin tones as well.

Smell: It smells like a really nice cool lychee drink.

Texture: You will need to work a bit fast with this product. When applying, it is easy to work around the edge and corners but it does turn velvety pretty quickly. A few may stay on the lips but it is easy to pull away. It also doesn’t transfer the color once the product sets into the lips.

Staining: Pretty good staining strength, not very strong but enough to leave a mark.

DEW VELVET 09 타로 Taro

Review

Colour: “Taro” is said to be a mauve peach color under a cool tone. When applied to my lips, it seems to have a bit more grayish tone than it looked in the product pictures. This colour does not suit neutral/warm skin tone, only cool skin tone users should wear this :’)

Verdict

AMUSE has a really nice consistent aesthetic to it, and I think it is something to praise because not many brands can be so consistent with their branding. Nonetheless, I do praise the founder for being such a capable lady to bring her branding into big stores, including Sephora. (Yes, you can buy them in Sephora as well but exclusively online only.)

This brand has done its job to amuse me with its attention to detail and ideas. K-beauty is such a competitive market and to be able to stand out is a difficult job. Nonetheless, they have made their presence known and it sure had taken them a lot of time and effort.

Honestly, the cushion does feel indifferent to the other cushions that I have used before but maybe there is a minor difference where the formula is way dewier and nicer to the skin. I kind of don’t have a lot to say about the formula itself, I generally still prefer bottled foundation and loose powder. Unfortunately, the color diversity is not broad. The brand only limits it to 3 tones. They could definitely aim to go broader for getting more traction in the international market.

The lip tints, on the other hand, I can have more comments for them. I love the idea of velvet lips and dewy lips without transferring color to the skin. I did a lot of smooching with the back of my hand and I only saw teeny tiny bits of transfer (when not dried/settled). I also aggressively smooched my boyfriend’s cheek and my Cream British Shorthair’s cheek to find no transfer at all (maybe a bit of the gloss).

Dew lip tint also has a runny texture that you don’t really see anywhere. It’s very easy to work with and will set into a gloss after a quick while. The velvet one though requires a bit more of a fast precision than anything I had worn. It’s not entirely a bad thing, just that I wasn’t expecting it to turn velvety that fast. Most importantly, my lips are not cracking! It’s important especially for the velvet option. This means that the lip tints are not drying to the lips. Besides that, they are also pretty light on the lips and lasts relatively long. (You almost don’t feel anything on your lips with the velvet ones.)

Having the swatches below, you can tell the difference in texture and the staining properties. Logically speaking, the darker the color, the more it stains. However, I think this may be the case where the redder the color, the more it stains.

For someone who likes to go for a quick and natural makeup routine, the cushion and the dewy velvet lip tints are your best bet. Of course, you could add the dewy lip tint into your options. Otherwise, I’d only recommend the dewy lip tint. That being said, if you want something higher-end in the K-Beauty market, AMUSE is definitely something to consider.
